SURREY — Police dealt with two pedestrian-related traffic crashes in Surrey on Wednesday.
A Surrey man, 73, is in stable condition and is expected to recover from his injuries after he was struck by a car at 176A Street and Highway 10, at about 6 p.m. The car’s windshield on the driver’s side was smashed.
Surrey RCMP Sgt. Paul Hayes said the pedestrian had been jay-walking and alcohol might have been a factor on his part. The collision is still under investigation.
In the other case, a driver was issued a fail-to-yield traffic ticket after she pulled out of a shopping mall and struck a man who had been crossing at a crosswalk at 120th Street and 72nd Avenue. Hayes said the pedestrian’s injuries were minor.
This collision happened at 3:45 p.m.
Police ask witnesses to contact the Surrey RCMP at 604-0502.
