Two pets lost in house fire

A house at 472 Glenwood Ave. suffered extensive damage from a fire that broke out shortly after 10 p.m. on Thursday night.

A home was extensively damaged and two pets, a dog and a cat, were lost in a fire that broke out Thursday night at 472 Glenwood Ave.

When Kelowna firefighters arrived at the scene at 10:26 p.m., the house fire was fully involved.

Three fire engines, a rescue vehicle, ladder truck and the command vehicle were called to the scene along with a crew of 18 firefighters.

Efforts were successful to keep the blaze from spreading to neighbouring houses.

One resident inside was taken to Kelowna General Hospital  with minoir injuries. morning.

The cause of the fire does not appear to be suspicious, but the fire department says it is still under investigation.
