A two vehicle accident that caused injuries has closed down Highway 22 between Castlegar and Genelle Monday evening.
Drive BC is reporting an estimated time of reopening of 9 p.m.

“Updated on Mon Nov 20 at 6:47 pm PST. Highway 22 Both directions — closed in both directions from junction with Highway 3B, in Trail to Castlegar (25.2 km) because of vehicle incident. Traffic is being rerouted via 201st Street in Fairview. Detour available via Highway 3Y Bombi Pass and Fruitvale, additional travel time is approximately one hour. No estimated time of opening; assessment in progress. Next update at 7:00 pm.”
