Four men were injured in two separate Surrey shootings that took place 24 hours apart this weekend.

The first incident took place Friday night just before 10 p.m., when Surrey RCMP received reports of shots fired in the 5700-block of 152 Street.

When they arrived on scene, officers found two men – suffering from what appeared to be gunshot wounds – who were transported to hospital and treated. According to RCMP, witnesses reported that a dark colored sedan fled the scene immediately after the shooting occurred.

On Saturday night, RCMP responded to the 18600-block of Highway 10 shortly after 10 p.m., after receiving reports of shots fired.

Officers did not locate anyone injured at the scene, but found evidence of shots fired and two residences that had been struck by bullets. The RCMP was later advised by a local hospital that two males had arrived with gunshot-related injuries, described as non-life-threatening.

According to an RCMP news release, both men remain in hospital where they are being treated and the hospital was put on lock down as a “safety precaution.”

RCMP said reports from the scene of Saturday night’s shooting indicate that shots were fired between a light-coloured SUV and a silver Pontiac Vibe.

Police say they have located the SUV and the vehicle is in police custody.

Surrey RCMP say both shootings appear to be targeted, but are not able to say whether they’re linked to previous shootings in recent weeks attributed to a drug-trade turf war.
