FLEETWOOD — Two men have been arrested in connection with what police say was a hit-and-run crash involving two women who were riding a mobility scooter in Guildford early Sunday morning.

It happened in the 15900-block of Fraser Highway, at about 1:20 a.m.

“Investigators believe alcohol may be a factor in this incident,” Surrey RCMP Corporal Elenore Sturko said.

Sturko said both women were taken to hospital and treated for serious, though not life-threatening, injuries. She said the women were heading east in a bike lane when a weatbound vehicle hit them and took off.

“A suspect vehicle was located a short distance from the site of the collision and two men were arrested,” Sturko said. “No charges have been laid as the investigation is ongoing.”

Police ask anyone with information to contact the Surrey RCMP at 604-599-0502 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS.
