A 33-year-old Lake Country woman and a 55-year-old Vernon woman were both sent to hospital late Friday afternoon following a two vehicle crash along Highway 97 in Lake Country.
Lake Country RCMP received a report of the two vehicle collision with suspected injuries at 3:48 p.m.
The crash occurred at the intersection of Highway 97 and Oceola Road when a northbound pick-up truck allegedly collided with the passenger side of a car, which was reportedly completing a left-hand turn into the north bound lanes of the highway from Oceola Road.
The driver of the blue passenger car, 33, narrowly escaped serious injury as her vehicle sustained significant damage to its passenger side.
Both drivers sustained non-life threatening injuries as a result of the collision and were transported, as a precaution, by BC Ambulance Service to Kelowna General Hospital.
At this time police are continuing to investigate the crash. Neither speed nor alcohol are considered to be contributing factors, and no charges have yet been laid.
