The RCMP are searching for two people who donned Tyvek coveralls to steal a shopping cart of cell phones from the Future Shop in Langford.

Police responded to multiple alarms at 1:47 a.m., June 23, at 779 McCallum Rd.

Both the store’s back gate and its front doors had been pried open, Police said.

Police dogs were brought into the big box store in case the thieves were still somewhere inside.

However, the investigators learned the suspects, thought to be men, were gone and that they had worn gloves and hoods as well as the plastic coveralls, which are sometimes used for industrial clean-up work.

After breaking into the store, the suspects grabbed a shopping cart and smashed the case displaying cell phones. The exact value of the cell phones stolen wasn’t immediately known. The thieves made their getaway through the back of the store.

Police are asking anyone with information on this crime to call West Shore RCMP at 250-474-2264 or CrimeStoppers (1-800-222-8477).
