Capital News reader Lynne Nordstrom sent in a photo of a shelf cloud hovered over the Rutland YMCA Wednesday evening.
According to Doug Lundquist, meteorologist with Environment Canada, the cloud has nothing to do with a tornado; rather, is caused due to humid air and a strong updraft.
“It’s usually an indication of heavy rainfall,” said Lundquist.
