An organization that ensures vital community services continue is seeking public support.
With three weeks to go, the annual United Way campaign is at 30 per cent of its $300,000 goal. The funds go towards 28 non-profit agencies.
“There are a lot of results from our employee payroll donations that we just don’t have the totals for yet,” said Linda Yule, executive director.
“However the individuals who normally drop a cheque in to us are only at 50 per cent of what we normally see come in.”
Besides visiting the office, another option for donating is calling 250-549-1346 to use a credit card.
You can also go directly to www.unitedwaynocs.com to donate.
Yule is encouraging all residents to consider the importance of the services provided by the agencies.
“What is raised here stays here,” said Yule.
“It makes a genuine difference to children, families, seniors and those with challenges here in your community,” she said.
Agencies benefitting from United Way are in Enderby, Armstrong, Falkland, Greater Vernon and Lumby.
