Strategic Aviation of Kelowna puts their backs into their task during the plane pull.

United Way supporters flex big muscles

Teams take on challenge to move a Convair cargo plane 20 feet across the kelowna Flightcraft tarmac.

Over 400 people used their muscle to move a 33,500 pound Convair cargo plane twenty feet across the Kelowna Flightcraft tarmac to raise funds for the United Way during the fourth annual Valley First Plane Pull Challenge.

Teams of 12 competed in several categories, while guests and spectators had an opportunity to see aviation up close, sample the food vendors, and participate in Smart Betty’s hockey shoot.

At the end of the celebrations, trophies are awarded in the following categories:

Most Funds Raised – RBC, raising $1,595

Fastest Plane Pull Time – Kelowna Flightcraft Headband of Brothers with a time of 9.91 seconds

Second Fastest Plane Pull Time – Hoopla.com with a time of 10.9 seconds

Team Spirit – Aberdeen Hall

Best Team Costumes – Total Restoration’s Renew Crew
