A snowfall warning remained in effect for Metro Vancouver and the Fraser Valley on Friday morning.
Environment Canada called for 10 to 20 cm of snow into the evening from the North Shore out to Hope beginning sometime around 9 a.m.
“Snow will develop over all areas of the south coast this morning as a Pacific frontal system approaches from the northwest,” the warning said. “Periods of snow will continue through most of tonight as the associated low pressure system crosses the area.”
The snowfall is expected to end late overnight as the system moves south. The mercury is supposed to hover around zero into tomorrow morning.
“There may be a significant impact on rush hour traffic in urban areas,” the warning added.
