A 10-year-old boy has been taken to Abbotsford Regional Hospital after being struck by a vehicle in Mission on Monday (Sept. 12) morning.
Mission RCMP, BC Ambulance Service and Mission Fire Rescue Service were all on scene.
The boy received minor injuries including scrapes and bruises.
A spokesperson for the Mission RCMP said the driver of the vehicle turned a corner and hit the boy who was walking in the crosswalk at Best Avenue and Cade Barr Street.
The driver was issued with violation tickets.
This is the second accident involving a school age student and a vehicle in the past five days.
On Thursday afternoon (Sept. 8) a cyclist collided with a vehicle at the corner of Dewdney Trunk Road and Stave Lake Street. The cyclist was taken to hospital by air ambulance, but it was reported that the injuries were not life-threatening.
Mission RCMP want to remind motorists, cyclists and pedestrians to be more aware when on the road. Now that school is back in session, school zones are becoming busier.
