Power is once again restored at Bastion Elementary and school will be in session as usual on Friday, Dec. 12.
The problem was a line on the road near the Comfort Inn and so the school had extremely limited power. The heating and the power was not working in 95 per cent of the school. The problem is now resolved and the heating and electrical systems are now back in good working order.
Principal Isabelle Gervais thanks parents for their patience as they dealt with the localized power outage.
Students were sent home on at the beginning of the school day Thursday morning due to the outage.
The Ready, Set, Learn event scheduled for Bastion at 1 p.m. today has been rescheduled for 1 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 18.
Ready, Set, Learn is a free early learning event open to families and caregivers with children who are three and four years old. Those attending will engage in play-based early learning activities and will receive free books and resources to help support their child’s learning.
