Update: City of Williams Lake cancels boil water advisory

On Monday the city of Williams Lake called off the boil water advisory it issued Friday evening.

Update:  The city of Williams Lake has cancelled the boil water advisory it issued late Friday, after several samples have come back negative for E. Coli bacteria.

On Sunday evening the city of Williams Lake provided an update for the boil water advisory it issued Friday evening for west side residents.

“The city of Williams Lake took nine additional samples for the second water zone affecting west side resident Sunday,” the city noted in a press release.

Results of the tests on the samples will be known by noon Monday, Nov. 11 and all tests taken since Friday have been negative for E.Coli bacteria, the city said.

The boil water advisory for the west side – Williams Lake golf course, and the area to the west, including Westridge, Hodgson Road, the golf course area and Terra Ridge – remains in effect.

Residents are advised to boil their water for at least two minutes before consumption.

The city will continue to provide updates through local media and the City’s Facebook page and Twitter page as soon as the latest test results are known.
