The Cogburn Creek fire east of Harrison Lake is now listed as under control.
Lightning sparked the 19.7-hectare wildfire, according to B.C. Wildfire Service; the fire was discovered on July 9 and was initially believed to be human-caused.
“Under control” means firefighters continue to monitor and patrol the affected area for a period of time before it ca be officially classified as out.

This marks the fifth local wildfire since April. Across the province, there have been 1,080 wildfires this year with 305 actively burning as of Friday (July 16).
