UPDATE: Court back in session in Nanaimo after power outage

Transformer blows along Chapel Street, crews are on scene

UPDATE: Power is back on at Nanaimo courthouse.

PREVIOUSLY POSTED: Court is not in session this morning in Nanaimo due to a small power outage downtown.

Court officials are on the front steps of the courthouse Tuesday morning re-scheduling cases.

A transformer on Chapel Street blew a few minutes ago after crews had already been working on restoring power in the area.

According to B.C. Hydro’s website, 17 customers are affected in and around Chapel Street.
