Delta Police are investigating what they believe to be a “clandestine lab” in North Delta.
On Saturday, May 19, police discovered what they describe as a “potential clandestine lab” in the 11100-block of 85th Avenue while checking on the welfare of a man.
According to DPD public affairs coordinator Cris Leykauf, police executed a search warrant in the area under the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act, with assistance from the RCMP Federal Clandestine Laboratory Enforcement and Response (CLEAR) team, and the Delta Fire Department.
One man was arrested and released without charges, and a number of items were seized and sent for analysis.
Emergency vehicles were in the neighbourhood for several hours, however according to a DPD press release, the police presence was just a precautionary measure for first responders and “public safety, or the safety of neighbouring residents” was not thought to be at risk.
