Dust advisory issued for Williams Lake Friday lifted Monday afternoon.

  • Mar. 8, 2013 5:00 a.m.

The dust advisory issued for Williams Lake last Friday was discontinued Monday afternoon at 4 p.m. due to a change in the weather that improved air quality.

The Ministry of Environment in collaboration with Interior Health issued the advisory Friday morning because of high concentrations of dust.

Avoid strenuous outdoor activities. Staying indoors with windows and doors closed helps to reduce exposure.

“Exposure is particularly a concern for infants, the elderly and those who have underlying medical conditions such as breathing or lung conditions, hay fever, asthma or persons who react strongly to dust.

If you are experiencing symptoms such as continuing eye or throat irritation, chest discomfort, shortness of breath, coughing or wheezing, follow the advice of your health care provider,” the ministry noted in a press release.
