A 79-year-old woman died in hospital last night (Wednesday), after being struck by a van while crossing the road in Abbotsford.
She was struck while crossing Marshall Road between McCallum Road and Horizon Street just after 7:30 p.m, Const. Ian MacDonald said.
She was struck by a Chevrolet Venture van around 7:30 p.m.., and the 52-year-old female driver remained on scene.
“She was extremely shaken,” a police release says.
Abbotsford Police closed Marshall between McCallum and Ware Street and instructed drivers to find alternate routes last night. The road has since re-opened.
