Birhane Onedo is wearing a pink shirt, black jacket and black pants, and the 11-year-old girl is missing.
The Langley RCMP was looking for the girl who was last seen Sunday at 10:50 a.m. when she left her Willoughby Heights home, said Langley RCMP Cpl. Holly Largy. The region’s search and rescue group was called in in the afternoon.
At about 11 p.m. Came word from police that the child was found safe at King’s School, 217th Street and 76b Avenue.
“She is unharmed and is on her way home,” Largy said.
Central Fraser Valley Search and Rescue and the police had set up a command post at the Willoughby Hall as they searched the Willoughby neighbourhood. Surrey Search and Rescue was asked to take part.
Search manager Jerry Haak said searchers would continue into the night, hoping to catch a break.
“I’ve got about 20, 25 members out there now, biking around, walking around, doing all the trails, all the schools, all the events centre as well,” Haak said.

“She hasn’t done this at all,” Haak said. “We think she’s just scared. She had a little bit of an argument with her mom, and we think she’s just scared. She’s just waiting to cool down.”
