Update: Fatal MVI on Stack Valley Road near Williams Lake

One male person is deceased and another male is in hospital following a motor vehicle incident on Stack Valley Road near Williams Lake.

Update:

The male driver who died in the fatal MVI on Canada Day is from Toosie approximately 45 kilometres west of Williams Lake. The passenger sent to hospital was treated for non-life threatening injuries. When police arrived at the scene the driver was deceased and it was apparent the vehicle had rolled over several times.

One male person is deceased and another male is in hospital following a motor vehicle incident on Stack Valley Road near Williams Lake that took place on Canada Day.

At approximately 11:21 a.m. the RCMP received a dispatch of a MVI. Soon afterwards police located an overturned vehicle approximately four kilometres down the Stack Valley Road.

The Coroner and the traffic analyst are on the scene, said Sgt. Bob Verbree, regional commander Cariboo Chilcotin Traffic Services in a press release.

“Alcohol and excessive speed have not been ruled out. The name of the deceased will be withheld pending notification of next of kin,” Verbree added.
