A tree feller died when he took a “fall from height” at a Sooke worksite on Monday, authorities said.

The man, identified online as Cam Sullivan, 29, was working at a Eaglecrest Drive worksite around 11:40 a.m. when he fell, said coroner Andy Watson.

Sooke RCMP are investigating the incident, a spokesman said.

Police have released few details of the incident.

Sullivan was described in an online posting as “kind, spontaneous, brillant, funny and always put his family first.”

Friends have set up a gofundme page for the family.
