UPDATE: Man living ‘transient high-risk lifestyle’ in Nanaimo, Oceanside found safe

Shadoe Lake, 29, known to frequent homeless shelters in the mid Island

UPDATE: On Saturday, July 10, Nanaimo RCMP said the 29-year-old has been found safe and sound. “His grandmother is very happy,” police said.

PREVIOUSLY REPORTED: Nanaimo RCMP are asking the public for assistance in locating a missing 29-year-old man who is said to live a “high-risk lifestyle.”

According to a press release, police say Shadoe Lake, 29, has been reported missing by his grandmother, who lives in Newfoundland. She says her grandson lives a “transient, high-risk lifestyle,” and is concerned for his safety and well-being.

Lake is known to travel between Oceanside and Nanaimo, the press release said, and is known to stay at homeless shelters in both areas. He is described as white and six feet tall with a slim build, blond hair and blue eyes.

Anyone with information on Lake’s whereabouts is asked to call Nanaimo RCMP’s non-emergency line at 250-754-2345, quoting file number 2021-24887.
