UPDATE: Barbara Munroe has been found safe.
Have you seen 77-year-old Barbara Munroe?
The Shawnigan Lake RCMP are seeking the public’s assistance in locating Munroe, who was last seen by her husband at their shared residence in Cobble Hill around 2 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 18, according to police.
She told her husband that she was heading to the pool in their retirement community, but according to friends she never arrived. Munroe’s credit card was used at a Petro Canada in the Duncan area but police do not know where she may have gone afterwards.
The senior is reportedly driving a brown 2005 Hyundai Accent with B.C. licence plate AVC 517.
She is described as 5 foot 6, with a slim build, short white/grey hair, and was last seen wearing black pants, a black jacket, and possibly a blue shirt.
Munroe has a bad right hip, walks with a limp and suffers from a medical condition.
It is possible she is lost and confused, RCMP say.
Anyone who sees Munroe or her vehicle is asked to call 911 immediately and contact their local police department.
