UPDATE: Missing Mission man located and safe

Police were searching for 19-year-old, Joe Kraakman who has now been locayed

Mission RCMP have reported that missing Mission man Joe Kraakman has been located.

On May 23, Mission RCMP were notified by a partnering police agency that Kraakman was safely located. Thank you to anyone who may have called police with information assisting in locating him.

Mission RCMP are searching for a missing 19-year-old man.

On May 17, the mother of 19-year-old, Joe Kraakman called police to report that her son had left the residence between the hours of 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. that day. Kraakman was reported leaving on his bike to embark on a long bike ride.

Kraakman is believed to have taken very few items with him and it was reported the he was not prepared to be away from home for an extended period of time.

According to an RCMP press release he is possibly camping in wooded areas but does not have any camping equipment.

He was last seen travelling along Dyke Road near Nicomen Island at approximately 3 p.m. on May 17.

Kraakman is described as a Caucasian male who is approximately six feet tall and weighs 185 pounds. He has brown eyes, facial hair and curly medium length brown hair.

When he was last seen he was wearing a gray hoodie, black cotton khaki pants, black running shoes and carrying an Adidas Nylon swag bag.

Kraakman has a specialized red and white mountain bike.
