UPDATE: Missing young Chilliwack woman located

Mother of missing Chilliwack woman was trying to come from Manitoba to find her daughter

A Chilliwack woman missing for weeks according to friends and family has been located.

A GoFundMe was even created to help the mother of Tanisha Gauthier so she could get to the Fraser Valley from the Prairies.

Chilliwack RCMP issued a press release last week asking the public for help to find 21-year-old Tanisha Gauthier who was last seen Feb. 22 in Chilliwack.

Tanisha’s mother Shannon Gauthier is living in Manitoba and said she couldn’t afford to get to Chilliwack to come look for her daughter.

A friend of Shannon set up the GoFundMe Tuesday hoping to raise money for a plane ticket.

But later that same day a friend of Tanisha’s mother posted that Tanisha was found, she was fine although she did not want help, but at least was alive and OK. She added that she’d pay back any donations to the GoFundMe.
