UPDATE: Police seek shooting suspects

Two local men were injured in targeted incident, say police

Mounties are looking for suspects after two men, who are known to police, were shot last Wednesday morning in Mission.

Both victims are in their 30s, said Mission RCMP Sgt. Shaun Wright, noting one victim lives in Mission and the other resides in Abbotsford.

One victim sought medical attention at Mission Memorial Hospital around 3 a.m., while the other went to the hospital in Abbotsford. Their injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.

“Both had more than one gunshot wound,” said Wright, who didn’t elaborate further.

Police say the two victims are known to each other and have not determined the exact location of the shooting.

Police believe the incident was targeted.

“It is believed to be related to their criminal activities, possibly related to drugs, but that is unconfirmed at this point,” Wright added.

No arrests have been made and the Mission RCMP general investigation section is investigating. Anyone with information regarding this incident is asked to contact the Mission RCMP at 604-826-7161 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
