UPDATE 3 P.M.:
A new power outage is affecting a smaller group of the same residents as an earlier outage today in West Kelowna.
After power was returned to 2,909 customers at 12:30 p.m., it went back out at 12:44 p.m. to just 410 customers.
BC Hydro reports this second outage is due to an ‘equipment failure’.
The outage effects residents north-west of Highway 97, east of Scott Crescent and south of Lindley Drive.
Crews are reportedly on scene, but there is no estimated service restoration time yet.

BC Hydro crews are en route to fix an outage in West Kelowna affecting 3,000 customers.
Power went out to the 2,909 customers at 11:33 a.m. in the area east of Highway 97, south-west of Westside Road and north of Boucherie Road.
The cause of the outage is still under investigation.
BC Hydro reports they hope to have crews on scene by 12:50 p.m. today. At that time an estimated power restore time will be provided.
