Update: RCMP conducting impaired driving investigation

A collision just south of Williams Lake on Highway 97 and Eagle View Drive involved four vehicles

Updated 8:50 p.m.

Police are conducting an impaired driving investigation following a four-vehicle collision south of Williams Lake late Tuesday afternoon, Williams Lake RCMP Staff Sgt. Del Byron told the Tribune.

Six people, including a child, were injured, however, the injuries at this point appear to be relatively minor, Byron said.

The collision occurred on Highway 97 and Eagle View Drive.

A motorist on scene said the accident involved one truck with a cargo trailer, one Ford pickup with a horse trailer, an SUV and a medium-sized car.

Anyone who may have witnessed the incident is asked to contact the RCMP or Crimestoppers.

Emergency crews are responding to what appears to be a multi-motor vehicle incident just south of Williams Lake along Highway 97 where the beginning of the new four-laning project begins.

The traffic has been moving slowly and often is at a stand still.

There are no further details at this time.
