Residents of Upper Mission are being asked to check out their backyards today, as the search for a missing rescue dog enters its fifth day.

Mitzu went missing from her foster home on Feb. 23 at 7:30 a.m.

Since that time, dozens of people have scoured the Upper Mission area of Kelowna looking for the pup, but every time she is spotted she bolts once more.

Anyone who sees Mitzu is asked not to approach or spook her, but rather to keep an eye on her and call one of the contacts on the poster below.

As you wake up and move around, please take a moment to check your yards for Mitzu. She may be hiding in your yard,” writes Paws it Forward Rescue.

We are still looking in South Ridge area as she has been seen there for the past four days.”

So far the dog has been spotted on Catina Drive, Kruiper Crescent, South Crest Drive, South Ridge Drive, Gordon Drive at Frost Road and Snowberry Avenue.

A drone was even used this weekend to try to locate the dog that is reportedly very scared, lost and possibly injured.

Those who have spotted her believe she may have cut herself on barbed wire.

If you can help look for Mitzu, head to the Paws it Forward Facebook page here.

We’ve got our main hub set up on the corner of Gordon and Clarance again if people coming to help could please check in there first,” adds the rescue society.

If you spot her, don’t approach and call 250-470-7923 or 250-469-2939 or 250-575-6670.
