Update: Semi clips power lines near Buckerfield’s

Accident sends power lines across 10th Avenue SW

–– It was reported previously a transport truck had collided with a hydro pole. This was incorrect as it had clipped low hanging power lines. ––

Power lines were downed in Salmon Arm after a vehicle clipped them and sent them to the road.

The incident between a transport truck and the hydro lines caused the cables to fall across 10th Avenue SW near Buckerfield’s. The vehicle made contact with the lines as they were sagging due to the weight of the snow on them. Salmon Arm fire crews, expecting to find a vehicle had collided with the pole, responded to the report and directed traffic around the accident.

The driver exited the semi with no injuries reported.
