UPDATE: Suspect’s name released in Tuesday stabbing

A man in his 50s was stabbed in the abdomen Jan. 10 at a residence on Broadway Avenue South in Williams Lake Tuesday night.

Curtis Joseph Paul was released by a Justice of the Peace on Jan. 12, pertaining to a stabbing that took place at a trailer-park residence on Broadway Avenue South in Williams Lake on Jan. 10.

Crown approved a charge of aggravated assault. Paul will appear in court on Feb. 22.

The victim, a man in his 50s, was stabbed in the abdomen.

He was taken to hospital, received surgery, and is in stable condition, the RCMP say.

The RCMP had received a report at 7:30 p.m. Jan. 10 and arrived at the scene, where they located a 25-year-old male suspect near the residence.

Sgt. Rick Lebeuf said Wednesday that the victim is local, underwent surgery, and is stable.
