UPDATE: Teen in serious condition after being hit by vehicle on KLO Road

A 14-year-old boy was hit and taken to hospital with potentially life-threatening injuries

A 14-year-old boy was sent to hospital with potentially life-threatening injuries after being struck by a car in Kelowna on Monday, Aug. 3.

The boy was crossing the street in a crosswalk in the 1400-block of KLO Road when he was hit. The driver of the vehicle remained on scene and is cooperating with the RCMP’s investigation.

KLO remained closed for several hours on Monday as police worked to determine the cause of the collision.

The boy’s condition is currently unknown.

UPDATE:

KLO Road is now open after a serious collision closed off the area for several hours Monday afternoon.

A teen was hit, by a vehicle, while using the crosswalk in the 1400-block of KLO Road. While the driver remained on scene, RCMP and emergency crews closed off the area to investigate.

The 14-year-old boy was taken to hospital with potentially life-threatening injuries, his condition is unknown.

The 1400-block of KLO Road is shut down for the time being after a collision.

Just after 12 p.m., a 14-year-old boy using the crosswalk along the 1400-block of KLO Road when he was hit by a vehicle. Police said the teen was taken to hospital with serious and potentially life-threatening injuries.

The driver of the vehicle has remained on scene and is cooperating with the investigation.

At this time, police are working to determine what caused the collision. But because of the ongoing investigation, both eastbound lanes and one westbound lane on KLO Road have been closed.

The length of the closure is unknown.

No further information is being released at this time.
