A motor vehicle incident Wednesday afternoon at Pat Bay Highway and Mount Newton Cross Road in Central Saanich caused minor injuries and snarled traffic for a short period of time.

Sgt. Nigel Smallwood of Central Saanich Police said the respective occupants of the two involved vehicles suffered what he described as minor injuries.

The incident at one of the busiest intersections along Highway 17 disrupted mostly northbound traffic on the Pat Bay, and eastbound traffic on Mount Newton while emergency crews were on scene.

Smallwood said traffic resumed quickly in speaking of minor disruptions.

“It’s one of those intersections,” he said in urging care.
