A wildfire southwest of Anahim Lake was 50 per cent contained by Sunday evening and had not seen much growth since Saturday, fire information officer Jessica Mack told the Tribune.
“Crews have made really good progress on the fire and they haven’t seen increased fire activity since it initially started,” she told the Tribune Tuesday.
The fire has been mapped at 75 hectares in size, and as of Tuesday had 51 firefighters and two helicopters on site.
On Saturday afternoon, the BC Wildfire Service responded to the blaze, 37 kilometres south of Anahim Lake.
On Sunday morning, the estimated size of the fire, located northeast of Stewart Lake, was 40 hectares, listed as out of control, but 25 per cent contained.

The fire, discovered Friday, is producing a significant amount of smoke, which was drifting north to the communities of Nimpo and Charlotte Lake.
According to the BC Wildfire Service, the Cariboo Fire Centre had 60 new fire starts since last Wednesday, 45 of those fires have now been called out.
