Update: Williams Lake RCMP connect with good Samaritan

At some point during the fight a 45-50-year-old man assisted the female victim and was able to stop the fight, at which time the suspects fled on foot

RCMP in Williams Lake have identified a good Samaritan that assisted an assault victim Monday in Williams Lake.

Const. Andrew Waters said thanks to news coverage, the individual that stopped to help was identified.

“The file is still being investigated by General Duty members,” Waters told the Tribune Thursday.

“They are recommending a charge of assault to Crown counsel.”

In a press release asking for the public’s assistance identifying the good Samaritan, Waters said at approximately 12 p.m. on Monday, Sept. 10, police responded to a report of a fight near the corner of Third Avenue North and Cameron Street.

The onitial investigation by police indicated that a male and female youth had been assaulted by two other youth who were wearing masks.

At some point during the fight a 45-50-year-old man assisted the female victim and was able to stop the fight, at which time the suspects fled on foot.
