UPDATE: Williams Lake RCMP stand down search for Highway 20 motorist

The driver was suspected of fleeing the scene of a single vehicle motor vehicle incident

UPDATE: 2:35 p.m.

Williams Lake RCMP are standing down their search for a motorist alleged to have crashed their vehicle and fled on foot.

Staff Sgt. Del Byron said the incident was involving a single vehicle roll over at Meldrum Creek Road and Highway 20 at about 11 a.m. Tuesday.

Police are still asking motorists to report any suspicious activity they may see along Highway 20.

Williams Lake RCMP are asking motorists on Highway 20 not to pick up any hitchhikers in the area Tuesday after a driver fled on foot following a single vehicle crash.

The incident occurred at about 11 a.m. at Meldrum Creek Road.
