UPDATE: Women, toddler hit by car will be okay

Trio was hit by a vehicle travelling at a slow speed Sunday in the Fraser Heights area of Surrey.

Two women crossing crossing the street with a baby in a stroller were hit by a car on Sunday afternoon.

At about 1:15 p.m., the three were crossing 108 Avenue at 160 Street in Fraser Heights when they were hit by a southbound 2005 Honda Accord making a left turn.

The vehicle was travelling slowly and the driver claimed to have the green light. However, the women also had the green light, and as pedestrians, had the right of way, police said.

Two women, 38 and 18 years old, along with a 15-month-old girl, suffered minor injuries and were taken to Royal Columbian Hospital, treated, and released.

The 31-year-old male driver remained at the scene, and was issued a traffic ticket.

Police are continuing to investigate.

If anyone has information about the collision, they are asked to call Surrey RCMP at 604-599-0502.
