A workshop burned down in a rural part of Mission yesterday afternoon.
Local firefighters from all three stations were summoned to the 35 foot by 40 foot building on Greenwood Drive shortly after noon, said Asst. Chief Larry Watkinson, Mission Fire/Rescue Service.
There was heavy smoke and fire showing when crews arrived, and the blaze expanded so fast, firefighters remained outside.
The tinder dry forest was also a concern, said Watkinson, and firefighters carefully monitored the surrounding brush.
The department was on scene for about four hours, he noted.
Mission RCMP Sgt. Miriam Dickson said Friday morning their investigation is complete, and nothing was found.
