Several people were taken to hospital following a multi-vehicle crash involving an unmarked police vehicle on Friday evening in downtown Langley.
At about 6:45 p.m., firefighters and police were called to a motor vehicle accident at the intersection of 200th Street and 56th Avenue in Langley City.
According to police, a southbound Fort Mustang on 200th Street collided with a Honda Civic that was making a left turn onto 56th Avenue.
The Mustang spun away from the original crash and then struck an unmarked Langley RCMP vehicle that was sitting stopped at the light facing east, said Cpl. Holly Largy, spokesperson for the local detachment.
The collision occurred with such force that the front end of the sedan was sheared off, and the rear wheel broken off the axle of the Mustang.
All the occupants of the Mustang and the Honda were taken to hospital for treatment of minor injuries, said Largy.
The officer in the unmarked car was assessed at the scene by paramedics and was not taken to hospital.
The investigation is ongoing and no tickets have been issued yet, Largy said.

The intersection was closed down for some time to facilitate the investigation.
