A pedestrian died in hospital after she was struck by a car Friday in the 5400 block of 192nd Street.
The 55-year-old Surrey woman was struck at about 7:40 a.m while she was in a crosswalk, said Cpl. Scotty Schumann, the Surrey RCMP media relations officer.
The woman was rushed to hospital with life-threatening injuries.
A family member of the victim contacted the Langley Advance and confirmed that the woman had been taken off life support the same day as the accident.
Schumann said the driver remains at the scene and the investigation into the incident is ongoing. No charges have been laid.
192nd Avenue remained closed for some hours after the incident while investigators went over the scene.
