The search continues for Slocan resident Victoria Aguilar. The Slocan Lake RCMP are seeking the public’s assistance in locating the 63-year-old woman reported missing on Wednesday. Aguilar was last seen walking on Harold Street in Slocan a short distance from her home.
“The search was suspended overnight due to darkness but it resumed today,” said Kelowna RCMP spokesman Const. Kris Clark.
A police service dog was used in the search yesterday and Arrow Lakes Search and Rescue are assisting in the search for the woman.
“It appears that she went for a walk and hasn’t returned home,” said Clark. “We’re not just searching on the ground. We’re now contacting known associates and places she may have visited. We’ve received a number of tips of sightings on the 3rd but have yet to locate her.”
He said perhaps she went to visit someone and is not aware that the RCMP are looking for her.
“We are certainly looking for anyone with any information to contact the RCMP,” said Clark.
Aguilar is described as 5’4″, medium build, fair complexion with freckles, and a shaved head
She was last seen wearing a long brown winter coat, a toque, and winter boots.
