Almost 3,000 people are without power following an early morning crash on Quadra Street. (B.C. Hydro)

UPDATED: Power restored to thousands in Saanich

More than 2,800 people were affected

Power has been restored to those affected by the early morning outage due to a motor vehicle crash early Tuesday moring.

A motor vehicle crash left almost 3,000 people without power and closed Quadra Street in both directions for several hours.

Saanich Police responded to a crash at 3:15 a.m. in the 4100-block of Quadra Street for a single vehicle that struck a hydro pole.

The driver was transported to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
