Ridge Meadows RCMP assisted in the arrest of two suspects in Mission on Wednesday that involved road blocks and officers with guns drawn, a helicopter and three police dogs.
Mission RCMP St. Sgt. Steve Crawford said two officers patrolling in Bell Street first noticed a suspicious looking pickup truck and attempted to pull it over around 4:15 p.m.
Video:
The truck fled, he said.
A neighbour said the vehicle drove onto a green at Eighteen Pastures golf course, located at 288th Street and 108 Avenue in Mission.

The suspects, two men, ran away from it.
Police dressed in camouflage set up road blocks and, with rifles drawn, questioned people in the area.
Brian Wong, an employee of the golf course, was stopped on 280th Street in Maple Ridge by police holding an “AR-15” rifle, then saw six police vehicles blocking the entrance to his work.
He wasn’t able to drive through to work because police dogs were on site searching for someone, he was told.
People on Facebook reported more than 12 marked and unmarked police cars and SUVs near 284th and 287th streets.
More police vehicles were reported at 104th Avenue.
Several residents of the area said they were stopped by police, with rifles and shotguns, and officers were advising them to go inside and lock their doors.
The Air 1 helicopter was called in to assist in the search, as was Ridge Meadows RCMP, an emergency response team and three police dogs.
One of the police dogs tracked and helped apprehend one of the suspects around 5 p.m.. Another of the dogs helped catch the other, at a separate location at about the same time.
Crawford said both suspects, men in their 40s, are known to police. No charges have been laid yet, but but were being held in custody.

Crawford said police are recommending charges of flight from police, breach of probation, dangerous operation of a vehicle, possession of break-and-enter tools, possession of a weapon for dangerous purposes and possession of a prohibited weapon.
The suspects were to appear in court Thursday.
No one was injured, Crawford said, and there is no longer a risk to the public.
He commended the efforts of all those who helped.
“It was one of those that came together nicely.”
