A weekend crash involving a small car and a power pole was the third motor vehicle accident in as many days at that location.
The Sunday night crash, around 10:30 p.m., saw a small red Mini hit a power pole near 200 Street and 48 Avenue with enough force to break the power pole in half.
According to one witness, the Mini drove over the curb and snapped the pole, leaving wires hanging.
Police closed 200 Street to southbound traffic for several hours.
The investigating officer was unable to determine which of two occupants was the driver of the Mini, but one person was ticketed for failing to remain at the scene of the accident.
The Sunday night crash came after two other accidents at the same location within the last three days.
The first of the crashes took place Friday around 4:11p.m. Police said two vehicles crashed while one was turning left onto 48 Avenue.
After that accident was cleared, there was a second crash at 5:56 p.m. the same day involving three vehicles.
“Speed is definitely a factor,” said one witness, who gave her name as Heike.
“No one cares that it’s a 50 (km/h) zone.”
No serious injuries were reported in any of the collisions.
