Williams Lake runners racing in the Boston Marathon Monday are fine, along with their family members, confirmed their co-workers.
Sheldon Manchur, 28, and his girlfriend Shelby Moon, 23, were competing in the marathon. Sheldon finished the race in two hours, 46 minutes and 28 seconds, an hour before two explosions detonated at the finish line.
The blasts have sent at least 100 people to hospital and killed at least two people.
Sheldon’s parents Fred and Monica Manchur and Shelby’s dad Gord and stepmother Cindy Moon are all OK, said Sheldon’s co-workers at Chuck’s Auto.
The 2013 Boston Marathon database notes 241 of the nearly 27,000 race competitors hail from B.C.
Officials reportedly shut down all cellphone service Monday afternoon to prevent remote detonation of any more explosive devices.

UPDATE:
Sheldon told the Tribune it was an eerily quiet scene in Boston Monday afternoon, and added they didn’t see the explosions take place.
“We’re all good,” he said. “We’re real good. We were already back at the place we were staying at when everything went down, but it’s pretty crazy. Luckily we didn’t get to see anything so we’ve just been watching everything on the news.”
He said police are telling people on the streets to stay indoors.
“It’s actually really quiet outside right now,” he said.
“Everybody’s left the streets. We were outside about an hour ago, and it’s dead out there. Everyone’s been told to go home and stay indoors, the subway’s all shut down and police are just telling people to go home.”
