A pedestrian was struck and killed near the intersection of Worrell Crescent and Glover Road in the early morning hours Tuesday.
Langley RCMP said the collision took place around 5:45 a.m. The driver remained at the scene and administered first aid to the pedestrian. Unfortunately, he could not be saved, said police.
The victim is 59 years of age and lived near the crash scene.
The Integrated Collision Analysis team has on scene assisting with the investigation. Langley RCMP Client Support and Victim Services is at the scene to assist the occupants of the vehicle who are obviously distraught, police said.
Glover Road will remained closed between Crush Crescent and 216 Street until the early afternoon. Anyone with information that might assist with this investigation who has not spoken to police is asked to call Langley RCMP at 604-532-3231.
