The Todd Creek Trestle is getting a facelift.
The trestle, which is located along the Galloping Goose Regional Trail, near the Sooke Potholes Regional Park, was closed in 2017 for repairs.
The Capitol Regional District said due to upgrades, it will remain closed until the end of 2018.
Upgrades include replacing timber within the trestle, including foundation, support posts, stringers, braces, deck planks and guard rails.
The CRD wanted to restore the 100-year-old trestle because it is an attraction to the area, and provides easy access for all ages and abilities to the Galloping Goose Trail.
The project will cost $1.2 million and is expected to lengthen the life span of the trestle by about 35 to 50 years.
