A vacant Surrey house was destroyed by fire last night (Oct. 24).
The blaze had completely engulfed the house, located near 103 Avenue and 142 Street, by the time fire crews arrived at around midnight.
Surrey RCMP Cpl. Bert Paquet said no one was injured and no homes or other buildings in the area needed to be evacuated.
He said fire investigators were on scene today to determine a cause, but said so far, it didn’t appear suspicious.
“There is nothing to support suspicious activities or arson at this point,” said Paquet.
The home, he said, was slated for demolition.
