Vaccination rates are slowly on the rise in Agassiz-Harrison.

Nearly 73 per cent of residents aged 12 and older have received at least one dose of the COVID-19 vaccine, according to data from the B.C. Centre for Disease Control (BCCDC), updated on June 24.

74 per cent of local people over the age of 18 are vaccinated. Though the 18-plus group has the highest percentage, it’s certainly not distributed evenly between those younger than 50 and those older than 50.

The aged 18-49 demographic – a newly-created category on the BCCDC vaccination map – lags behind with 58 per cent of that population being vaccinated. Those aged 50 and older lead the way with 84 per cent of that population being vaccinated.
